Chichester Harbour

Nature, Hayling Island

Chichester Harbour borders the eastern side of Hayling Island and is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The harbour system includes tidal channels, mudflats, saltmarshes, and low-lying islands, and it supports a rich diversity of bird life. The harbour is also an important recreational sailing area, with several clubs based on its shores. Views from Hayling's eastern coast look across the harbour towards Thorney Island and the Sussex coastline. The Chichester Harbour Conservancy manages the area for conservation and public access.
