Langstone Harbour
Nature, Hayling Island
Langstone Harbour forms the western boundary of Hayling Island and is one of the most important coastal habitats on the south coast. The harbour is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and supports internationally significant populations of wading birds and wildfowl, including brent geese, dunlin, and redshank. The mudflats, saltmarshes, and tidal channels are visible from the western shore of the island and provide a constantly changing landscape with the tides. The harbour is managed by the Langstone Harbour Board.
