St Mary's Church

Church, Hayling Island

St Mary's Church in North Hayling is the oldest building on the island, with fabric dating to the twelfth century. The church has Norman nave arcades and a peaceful churchyard surrounded by farmland. It has served the island community continuously for over eight hundred years and retains an atmosphere of deep antiquity. The church holds regular services and is open to visitors. The isolated setting among the fields of North Hayling gives St Mary's a character quite different from the busier southern part of the island.
