Creek Road
Street guide, Hayling Island
Creek Road runs along the eastern side of Hayling Island, following the edge of the tidal creeks that indent the harbour shoreline. The road provides access to properties on the harbour side and connects to the lanes that serve Mill Rythe and Tye. The character is quiet and rural, with views across the mudflats and channels of Chichester Harbour. At low tide, the creeks drain to reveal the mud that supports the wading birds for which the harbour is famous. Creek Road has a backwater feel, well away from the busier parts of the island. Properties along the road benefit from the harbour views and the sense of seclusion. The road is popular with birdwatchers and walkers exploring the eastern shore.
