Northney Road
Street guide, Hayling Island
Northney Road runs through the north-western part of Hayling Island, near the bridge at Langstone. The road provides access to Northney, a small settlement at the top of the island where the A3023 crosses from the mainland. Northney Marina is located here, providing moorings and boatyard facilities on the western shore. The road has a semi-rural character, with views across Langstone Harbour and the mudflats that border the northern end of the island. The area around Northney Road is less developed than the southern parts of the island, and the character is closer to the rural north than the resort south. The bridge and the road junction at Northney are the gateway to the island, and every visitor's first impression of Hayling is formed here.
