West Lane
Street guide, Hayling Island
West Lane runs through the western part of Hayling Island, connecting the West Town area to the Sinah peninsula and the seafront. The road provides access to Hayling Golf Club and to the western shore of the island, where views across Langstone Harbour stretch to Portsea Island and the towers of Portsmouth. The road is residential in its northern sections and becomes more open as it approaches the coast. West Lane has a quieter character than the busier eastern side of the island, and properties here tend to attract residents who value the harbour views and the sense of space. The western shore is less developed than the southern seafront, and the walk along the harbour edge from West Lane is one of the quieter coastal routes on the island.
